Welcome

I’m Dr Greg Simpson, Chairperson of the 12th IUPAC International Congress of Pesticide Chemistry, which will be held in Melbourne, Australia from the Sunday 4th to Thursday 8th July 2010.

A dedicated team from the Australian and International Scientific community of pesticide chemistry have prepared a scientific program which explores research and industrial applications which support a sustainable future in agricultural production.  

With so much changing in our world today and so many demands to provide for a sustainable future, the theme of the 12th IUPAC ICPC is very relevant.  “Chemistry for a Sustainable World” will present a holistic focus on sustainable use of pesticides in agriculture for scientists and industry members.  The scientific program explores:

• Emerging Issues
• Pest Management and Crop Protection
• Formulation and Delivery
• Environmental Fate and Safety
• Regulatory and Residue

Additionally the congress has been structured to provide many opportunities for you to not only enjoy an outstanding scientific program which includes an extensive poster display, but also interactive sessions invoking discussion about current and relevant issues and several social events promoting networking opportunities.

This will be a dynamic event and the Organising Committee and I look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne in 2010.
